Odette is a 60-pound black-and-white lab mix who is so cute, I want to snuggle her. But it wouldn't matter if she weren't quite so adorable.
The idea that someone would shoot a dog is unfathomable to me.

According to the Maine Warden Service, however, that's exactly what happened in Eliot.

The pup's owners must have been so distraught when they found her lying at the side of the road, unresponsive.
Odette was taken to an emergency veterinary clinic, where it was discovered that she had a small lead pellet that had been shot through her hip and had traveled into her abdomen.
She's a strong girl because officials say Odette has recovered from surgery and is doing better. Good girl.
Now, the Maine Warden Service wants to know who's responsible.
Maine Operation Game Thief Offers a Reward for Info About Who Shot a Dog in Eliot
They say an initial investigation indicates the pellet was likely fired from an air gun or was a single or stray shotgun pellet. Wardens believe Odette was shot 11 to 15 days ago in the vicinity of Depot Road in Eliot, between Routes 103 and 236.
Maine Operation Game Thief is offering a $1,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for shooting sweet Odette.
