Well, it's happening this weekend in Old Town, as the community celebrates the 3rd annual Fire & Ice Festival.

Middle Street in Old Town will be filled with family-friendly activities on Saturday, March 7, 2026.

The fun starts at 5 pm, with a variety of cool activities, like sledding, and getting up close to a variety of vehicles at a Touch a Truck Fair.

Some very talented folks will be making beautiful ice sculptures.

Snack on some sweet treats, enter for raffle prizes, and groove to some live music.

Plus, remember I mentioned outdoor heat sources? Well, it's the Fire & Ice Festival, so there will be fire pits to help you ward off the chill.

Old Town, Maine's Fire & Ice Fest Includes Outdoor Viewing of Black Bears Hockey

At 7 pm, everyone is invited to set up their folding chairs around the big outdoor movie screen and watch a live stream of the final hockey game of the season for the UMaine Black Bears.

Proceeds from the event will benefit the Penquis Good Neighbor Fund, which ensures neighbors in urgent need can stay warm, safe, and supported during Maine's coldest months.

The Fire & Ice Festival is being organized by Downtown Old Town, a dedicated committee working to promote the growth and vibrancy of the Old Town community.
