Gerald's wife, Linda, and a family friend, Thomas Geruso, were hospitalized with critical injuries after being shot. No information has been released about their condition.

The attack was interrupted by bystanders who jumped in and tried to restrain the shooter.

At that point, Dorgan died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Dorgan lived in Maine and worked at General Dynamics Bath Iron Works.

A search of his apartment and a storage unit resulted in the recovery of more firearms and ammo.

Questions arose right after the shooting because the shooter and his ex-in-laws have the same last name. According to the New York Post, that's because Robert and Rhonda Dorgan were cousins who married.
