Maine State Fire Marshal Investigates a Fatal Fire in Skowhegan
One person was found deceased in a Skowhegan house fire on Tuesday.

Officials have not released the identity of the person who was located, other than that it was adult.
The fire was reported just after 5:00 pm at 31 Waye Street. Skowhegan Fire officials were told that someone may have been trapped inside the burning building.
Skowhegan Police Say 1 Person is Dead After a House Fire
When they arrived, fire crews attempted a rescue, but the fire conditions were too heavy to do it safely.
Once they got control of the blaze, an adult was found deceased, inside the building.
The home was heavily damaged by the fire.
Maine State Fire Marshal Investigates a Fatal Fire in Skowhegan
The State Fire Marshal's Office was called and investigators began looking into the cause of the fire.
They remained at the scene into the night on Tuesday and are expected to return on Wednesday, to try and determine how the fire started.
Maine Department of Public Safety Spokesperson Shannon Moss says the deceased was transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Augusta for positive identification.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
