A China, Maine, man is dead after a head-on crash in Vassalboro.

Maine State Police Say a China Man Died in a Head-On Crash in Vassalboro

Maine State Police responded to a report of a head-on collision on Route 3 in Vassalboro just after 3:30 pm on Monday.

Ryan Page, 48, of China, Maine, succumbed to his injuries at the scene of the crash.

Officials say Douglas Boivin, 64, of Jay, was not hurt in the incident.

When they arrived, they found a Chevy Silverado pickup truck driven by Mr. Page and a Ford F-650 commercial truck driven by Mr. Boivin.

Maine Department of Public Safety Spokesperson Shannon Moss says an initial investigation indicates that Mr. Page's pickup truck had crossed the center line into the commercial truck's lane.

The two vehicles collided, despite the commercial truck's driver swerving to the right to avoid the pickup truck.

Maine Police Say the Fatal Crash in Vassalboro Caused a Minor Secondary Crash

A secondary crash happened after the initial crash when a third vehicle swerved to avoid the pickup truck and struck a guardrail. That driver reported minor injuries.

This crash remains under investigation by the Maine State Police.
