The State of Maine is beaming with pride today!

Things are starting to get intersting on the current season of American Idol. When the Top 10 votes were revealed last night, Mainer Julia Gagnon, had her named called again.

The theme last night was "Billboard #1 Hits" and with her performace of the Zach Bryan song, "Something In The Orange" she punched her ticket into the Top 10.

Julia's ever growing fan base chimed in with their thoughts on the song:

Just incredible. My favorite performance by Julia so far. Her voice is amazing.

@robertantonnyc

showing so many beautiful facets of her voice, so much sublety, fluidity, power. It felt like she really connected to this, it felt purely personal, powerful. Very well done.

@ConcertgoerJ.R.

Her best performance by a clear mile!

OMG... I was literally clapping my right hand on the air while watching Julia !!! And scream " Girl U better SANG."... it's really 1st time I watch her sing from the ..since her audition

Julia has a very interesting backstory, she is from Cumberland, she is a senior at the University of Southern Maine, and recently found her birth mother in Guatemala, and she's trying to accomplish something big, to make her proud. She is well on her way to doing just that.

Keep following Julia on her journey, when American Idol airs Sunday & Monday nights at 8 pm, on ABC 7. It is also available to stream the next day on Hulu.
