
Sullivan Motorcyclist Killed in Hancock Crash on Friday
Jim Hoyt, from Sullivan, who was 44 years old, was killed on a motorcycle on Friday, July 3rd in Hancock.
According to Maine Department of Public Safety spokesperson, Shannon Moss “The initial investigation indicates a motorcycle traveling westbound crossed into the eastbound lane and collided head-on with an eastbound pickup truck,”
The crash occurred shortly before 8:30 a.m. on Route 1 near Washington Junction. Hoyt was wearing a helmet, but was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the truck sustained minor injuries.
The road was shutdown for a period on Friday, while police reconstructed the accident. The investigation is ongoing.
