Fresh Seafood: It doesn’t get any better than fresh seafood in Maine. Pulled right out of the ocean and sold directly from the piers. It’s a way of life for Maine fishermen. Restaurants like Rusty Crab in Mars Hill serve up the best seafood around.

Seasons: The seasons are vibrant in Maine. All four seasons are heightened with hot summers, cold sinters, fall colors and a beautiful spring. It’s normal to take a walk on Old Orchard Beach in the middle of winter.

Communities: The people in Maine are the best. They’ll help you when you need it and give you your privacy and space. Neighborhoods are safe from Cumberland to Presque Isle and everywhere in between.

Outdoor Recreation: You can do it all in Maine from swimming in the ocean and lakes to hiking deep into the woods. Snowmobiling is popular and so is skiing and skating. There are 32 state parks, 17 million acres of forest, and 5,500 miles of snowmobile trails in the state.

Culture: Maine has a strong and independent heritage in its people and architecture. Native Americans like the Micmacs were some of the first Mainers and have a long history in the state. In terms of architecture, Maine has some of the most unique lighthouses in the world.

Low Crime Rate: Maine has one of the lowest crime rates in the United States. In 2023, the violent crime rate was about 108 per 100,000 people, way below the national average of 369. Mainers remember when you rarely heard of drugs and guns crimes in the state.
