Marden's Surplus & Salvage is adding their 14th store! What's the lucky town?

They will be opening a Marden's in Farmington at the Mt. Blue Plaza on Wilton Road, according to Mainebiz. They are replacing the now defunct Big Lots.

When will the new Farmington, Maine, Marden's open?

They plan to open in May. This location is right across the street from Walmart, so it should be some interesting competition. But as they say on their website, Marden's isn't just a store,

Big Lots wasn't big enough, so they are grabbing more space and will have about 50,000 square feet of total store space. The general manager, Fox Keim, said they are excited to be in western Maine because they have a huge, loyal following in the area.

You should have bought it when you saw it at Marden's in Maine.

Marden's has been around since 1964, and they must be doing something right because, unlike other retailers, they are expanding! Mainers love Marden's. Mainers love a bargain. There's nothing else like this store. Oh, there are other bargain stores, but Mardens is special. How many of the 13 other locations have you been to?

I've been to 7 out of 13. Not bad. I have not ventured to the far north stores in Madawaska, Presque Isle, and Calais. But one of these days, I will. Now, I can add Farmington to my list.
