There's a handful of things that everyone expects to enjoy when they come to Maine. Gorgeous beaches and incredible wildlife. Small towns and cozy places to stay. And of course, sweet, delicious lobster that seems to taste twice as good in Vacationland.

But there's always been an unsolvable debate that continues to rage on. Where in Maine can you get the best lobster? Is there such a place that is truly above all the rest?

Tasting Table Says Kennebunkport Restaurant is Best in Maine For Lobster

Oh, the irony. Tasting Table lists The Clam Shack in Kennebunkport, Maine, as its top choice for lobster in the state. The Clam Shack has plenty of history, it's been a staple of Kennebunkport for nearly six decades.

In the summertime, lines can extend in front of the small shack as people want to get their hands on all of the delicious seafood offerings The Clam Shack has, including Maine lobster. Tasting Table did offer up some excellent reasons on why it's the best.

The Clam Shack is Meticulous With Their Lobster

As Tasting Table notes, The Clam Shack gets its lobster from Cape Porpoise Harbor right in Kennebunkport. They steam their lobster in ocean water for extra brine. The lobster used in their signature lobster rolls is hand picked daily and served on a roll made freshly baked locally.

That process and attention to detail is the reason the Clam Shack has been around 'forever'. It's also some solid reasoning as to why Tasting Table made it the top choice for lobster in Maine.
