Kayakers Find Body in Maine Stream

State police are investigating the discovery of a body in Sandy Stream in Unity.

Kayakers found the body on Friday.

Police say the remains appear to be those of an adult male, and likely have been in the stream for several years.

Investigators say there is no obvious match after reviewing missing persons cases on file. Police are conducting searches in the area.

Anyone with information about the case is asked to call State Police in Augusta at 624-7076.

Unity is located in Waldo County.
