Kite Festival In South Portland Looks Worth The Drive

For years now I have had to go down to the Portland area for the bunny and it is such a beautiful area it is hard to imagine how you could make it more amazing...enter a 30 foot kite shaped like an octopus!

I have always loved flying kites, there is just nothing more fun and freeing than having your kite soar up in the stratosphere. If that sounds right to you the Bug Light Kite Festival is just the event you've looking for to feel like a kid again. The festival is put on by the Portland Historical Society and features some of the most incredible kites you'll ever see. This years even will be held on Saturday, May 20th.

And if you want to join in the fun the museum which is open daily from 10am to 4pm. will have kite on hand for sale. The Bug Lite Kite Festival facebook page suggests you come in early for your kite for the best selection. All shapes, sizes and prices ~ and, best of all, proceeds help support the South Portland Historical Society and its museum in the park!
