I think it's safe to say that everyone could use a break from it all--and a big old belly laugh. With that in mind, we're happy to announce that comedian Jeff Dunham will be one of the first acts to kick off the new year when he takes the stage at the Cross Insurance Center in Bangor this coming January.

Tickets for the January 12, 2022 show officially go on sale Monday, October 4, with presale starting September 30.

But you can win your way in to see him, all this week on the I-95 Morning Show. Just listen to JStew and Cori in the morning for your chance to score 5th row, 4th row, 3rd row, 2nd row, and front row seats to see Dunham and his cast of characters.

Dunham's no stranger to the Bangor area, having played for Bangor audiences several years, most recently back in 2018. You may have even seen him on one of his many comedy specials on Comedy Central.

I had my own personal encounter with Dunham, when I worked at a comedy club called "Laffs" in Tucson, Arizona in 2005.

Dunham was scheduled to play a couple of shows there on a Friday night, and came to club in a rush, just before his set was supposed to start. He was all out of sorts because he had been held up by customs when flying into the airport, and somehow, in all of the fuss, his notorious puppet "Achmed" was damaged. So he got to the club in a panic, trying to figure out how to repair his doll.

Luckily, this gal from Maine was working that night, and just happened to have both duct tape and nail glue in her purse....because why wouldn't you?! So he fixed Achmed up and did his set. It was a great show. Many of his usual cast of characters made appearances including Walter and Peanut.

But I'll always have a special place in my heart for Achmed.
