Maine Starbucks Celebrates 20 Years Of a Fall Favorite Flavor
If you happened by your local Starbucks today and noticed they were busier than usual for a Thursday, you would be correct.
For some, pumpkin spice is not just a season, it's a way of life.
If you're a fan, chances are today was a very special day for you, as "Pumpkin Spice Season" officially started at Starbucks Thursday morning at 5 a.m., as the store kicked off its 20th year selling the stuff today.
If you happened by the Starbucks on Bangor Mall Boulevard, you may have caught a peek of one of their managers even dressed as a large pumpkin to mark the occasion.
With specialty drinks including the famous Pumpkin Spice Latte and new favorite Pumpkin Cream Cold Brew, a steady stream of cars lined the drive-thru the entire day.
Other than their traditional "Red Cup Day" launch, centering around their special "Holiday Season" launch, the Pumpkin Spice Launch is one of the store's most popular, and highly anticipated days of the year.
Local managers say the phone often rings off the hook, a month in advance, with people asking about when the official date of launch for the season will take place.
Since the inception of Pumpkin Spice Season, fans of the flavor have found new and interesting ways to incorporate it into their lives.
Out of curiosity, I did a quick search for "Pumpkin Spice" on Amazon. I spent about 10 minutes scrolling down through the random offerings that popped up. You won't believe some of the weird stuff I came up with.
Don't believe me? Take a look at the items I came across. Everything from clothing to phone covers, to jewelry and lip balm. They even have Pumpkin Spice Underpants and Pumpkin Spice Toilet Paper! The strangest thing that popped up was some Pumpkin Spice Romance Novels?!
I don't even know what to do with that.
So, if you're a fan of pumpkin spice, you'll have plenty to pick from this season.
As for me, I'm not going to let go of summer just yet. I'm going to wait till it gets a little cooler before I dive into all things pumpkin spicy.
