According to Gifford's Ice Cream, while their Skowhegan stand will close this weekend, Bangor and Waterville have one more week to go.

"This Friday, September 25th, our Skowhegan Stand kicks off its closing weekend! We’ll be open Saturday starting at 12 PM until we run out of goodies! And don’t forget… next weekend is the final weekend for our Bangor & Waterville Stands! We’ll be closing starting Friday, October 2nd, while supplies last."

Dairy Queen on Broadway in Bangor and on Wilson Street in Brewer will both be open a couple of months more, as they plan to close for the winter sometime in December.

Good news for those who like frozen treats year-round: There will still be two spots locally where you can grab a cone through the drive-thru: Fielder's Choice in Bangor plans to remain open (their drive-thru only) throughout the winter, and the Old Town Dairy Queen Chill & Grille remains open all year long.

Now that you're in the know on where to go, and which stands have already or will be closing soon, you better get while the gettin' is good, as they say, and there's still ice cream left to be had!
