I enjoy buying people presents.

Well, to be more accurate, I enjoy giving people presents. I kinda hate buying them. I've never really enjoyed shopping, so going out in the world and doing it the old fashioned way is way more than I typically want to deal with. I'm definitely the king of online shopping. Not just at the holidays, I do it all the time.

But shopping aside, I do reeeeally enjoy giving people cool things. All year long, I pay attention to things that I think my wife would really like, or things that she tells me she likes, and I keep a list going in my phone. When we get around to holidays, birthdays, etc., I consult that list and get what I want for her. I enjoy spoiling her.

In a recent study that was trying to figure out the most generous states during the holidays, it was revealed what the average Mainer spends on gifts, per person. On average, we spend over $80 on each person we buy presents for. It gave us an overall ranking as the 17th most generous state.

Honestly, most of us would always spend more if we could, and it's our financial situation that always dictates what we can do.
