Maine Governor LePage Orders Flags To Half-Staff To Mark Respect To Barbara Bush
The Governor has ordered that all United States and State of Maine Flags be flown at half-staff immediately until sunset this Saturday.
“Ann and I send our deepest condolences to the Bush family upon the passing of First Lady Barbara Bush,” said Governor LePage in a press release this morning. “Mainers hold a special place in our hearts for President and Mrs. Bush, and we will treasure our memories of her time spent in our state. She was a wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, military spouse, former First Lady and a strong advocate of family. America has lost a great friend.”
The former First Lady passed Tuesday evening at the age of 92. She will be buried on the property of the George H.W. Bush Presidential Library at Texas A&M University.
