One popular Maine Ice Cream franchise, Fielder's Choice, is making some big changes as they go into their 2026 season.
This change will take place at all of their locations across the state, including their Bangor shop, which opened back in 2020.
They shared the big news this past weekend, via their Facebook page, that they will no longer be a cash-only facility.
"No cash? No problem. As we kick off our 20TH SEASON, Fielder’s Choice Ice Cream is officially in the big leagues — we’re now accepting card payments at all 6 locations! "
They went on to get specific and say that this new change means they will now accept debit cards, credit cards, and Apple Pay.
While the drive-thru at Fielder's Choice has been open through the winter, this past weekend marked the first weekend that their walk-up windows were open, too.

Along with their Bangor location, Fielder's Choice has ice cream stands in Manchester, Brunswick, Sabattus, Auburn and Old Orchard Beach.
We're told they haven't made the switch over to their spring hours yet, but that should be coming sometime in the next few weeks.
As of right now, the Fielder's Choice Stands across Maine are open 12 PM-8 PM, seven days a week.
