Judas Priest is Coming to Rock Bangor, Maine in April of 2024
Priest last came to Maine in 2005.
I really wish I'd been at that show. It was at the State Theater in Portland, and I can't imagine what it would've been like to see them in such a small place. I guess small is a relative term. The last time I personally saw them was on the Painkiller tour in January of 1991 at the Cumberland County Civic Center. I think Megadeth was the opener.
But Judas Priest is coming to rock Bangor this time, and is prepping to bring us their full metal assault on April 24th, 2024 at the Cross Insurance Center in Bangor. Now that the cold weather has settled in, all the cool rock shows will be moving indoors and off the Bangor waterfront.
What's the ticket info?
Tickets will go on sale this Friday, November 17th at 10:00am. But before that, there will be a pre-sale code to purchase tickets on Thursday, November 16th. To get the crowd going, Priest is bringing heavy-duty Swedish metal openers, Sabaton. There's an unwritten rule in rock and roll, that your opening act needs to be a little heavier than you. That way the crowd will be thoroughly pumped up for Priest.
For over 50 years and minimal lineup changes, Judas Priest has been bringing metal fans around the world, the real deal. Let's face it, Rob Halford is basically the Godfather/Gatekeeper of all things metal in the world. And, even at his age, he can still wail through all those high notes. It's like his voice has never aged. It's crazy.
If you're Maine fan of metal, this is pretty much the biggest news in a minute. This is like bringing the Church of metal right to us. I also wouldn't wait too long once tickets go on sale. A show like this may never make it to Maine again, so we need to make the most of it. But... I promise you won't see me in any leather. No one wants to see that.
Hopefully Bangor will represent on this list with it's killer concert venues...
