The last two years in a row, Fireball Whisky has pretty much dominated the market as Maine's favorite liquor. As far back as I can remember, Mainers have always been more drawn to good old Allen's Coffee Brandy. But the switch started coming steadily over the last decade.

Now, because Maine, and presumably other places as well, are enjoying Fireball so much, that they're ratcheting up production at their Lewiston bottling facility. Up to this point, they've been working 3 shifts a day, 5 days a week. Now, they're hiring almost 50 new full-time employees, and ramping up to 24/7 production.

According to the Portland Press Herald, they will start doing 4 shifts a day, seven days a week. The 46 new hires they hiring in at this point will comprise that 4th shift. Plus, new jobs for Mainers can never be a bad thing. And, if they need to be making more, it would seem they'll be able to cement their place as our favorite adult beverage.

It's great news for the company, and it's great news for Maine. And by the way.... Fireball makes an extremely surprising and tasty Whisky Sour.
