Find Out How This Gooey Goodness Is Made During Maine Maple Sunday
We pour it over pancakes and waffles, some drizzle it on ice cream, and others use it instead of sugar in their coffee.
Maple Syrup; that gooey, golden brown deliciousness has many yummy uses. For the past 42 years, dozens of maple syrup producers across the state have been celebrating this sweetness during Maine Maple Sunday Weekend. It's a tasty way to welcome in Spring!
According to the Maine Maple Producers, this year's festivities will take place over the weekend of Saturday and Sunday, March 22nd and 23rd.
During this time, you can get an up-close look at just how the syrup is made and goes from tree-tap to tabletop.
"Most sugarhouses offer maple syrup samples and demonstrations on how pure Maine maple syrup is made. Many farms offer games, activities, treats, sugarbush tours, music, and so much more."
"Maine Maple Sunday is always the fourth Sunday in March although some sugarhouses are offering events for both Saturday and Sunday. Please be sure to read the description of each sugarhouse to know what times they will be open and the activities they offer."
If you want to make the most of the weekend, you can take a look at the list of maple producers who plan to be open, and chart a course to hit at least a few of them.

With participating Sugar Houses in every corner of the state, from Biddeford to Eagle Lake, to Colombia Falls and Lincoln Plantation, there's almost certainly a spot or two you could hit up over that weekend, for a better appreciation of where this literal liquid gold comes from.
