Mainers, Would You Go to a Puff & Paint, Kinda Like a Paint & Sip?

This may happen sooner than you think...

My wife likes to go to those Paint & Sip events. Especially around the holidays. She and my sister will go and have some wine, and come home with these slightly boozed up snowmen, or Christmas trees or whatever. It's been all the rage for years. Since I have no artistic ability, drunk or sober, it's never been of any interest to me.

On the other hand, people have been puffing weed and creating things since the beginning of time. Or at least since paint and weed have existed in the same place. But one thing you can't currently do in Maine is go to a public place and do both of those things. Despite weed being legal in Maine, you can't enjoy it out in public.

The times, they may be a-changin'.

There's a new bill that has already moved to committee in the state legislature, that would not only approve some more standards for the way cannabis is sold, but would also make way for cannabis social clubs. In other words, the state may finally be able to offer "weed bars". This would make way for social activities that are cannabis themed, like a Puff & Paint, according to TheMarijuanaHerald.com.

This bill could also allow cannabis to be delivered into towns where retail weed is otherwise not allowed. So if your town won't approve a local dispensary, the next town over with a legal dispensary, could deliver it to you. It could also make way for hotels and businesses to allow cannabis use on their property.

There's obviously a lot of moving parts with this bill, but it seems to be gaining momentum. It's hard to say when this will be a reality, but it would seem that legalization was the hardest part in the first place. So... you never answered... Will go to the Puff & Paint or not?
