The Most Expensive Chain Restaurant in the US has Several Maine Locations
Eating meals out, can be as expensive as you want.
It gets a little harder every day to find a good, cheap meal in Maine. There's tons and tons of great food here, but more often than not, you pay right out the nose for it. And because we have such a diverse palate of eateries in Maine, it's become almost commonplace to pay too much to eat.

But even as much of a foodie state as we are, we're still not home to any of the most expensive restaurants in the country. That's not to say we don't have some staggering restaurant prices, but compared to what some people are paying in big cities like Boston, New York, or Los Angeles, we're not too bad.
Unless we're talking about fast food chains.
The bigger chains like McDonald's and Burger King, all seem to be trying to find ways to bring down their bottom line and actually put those savings back to their customers. Most of the big chains have lots of incentives in place to at least make you feel like you're getting a deal. But not at the most expensive fast food chain in America.
According to Preply.com, the most expensive fast food in the US is Five Guys. We have seven locations around Maine, and all of them seem busy. All the time. So it seems that Mainers are not afraid to get their wallets out when it comes to paying a bit more for Five Guys. One could also argue that there's a higher quality standard...

But every Five Guys I've ever gone into here in the Pine Tree State has been packed to the gills. So it seems to one of those somewhat inflation-proof businesses that keep people coming back, again and again. So while we may not have the priciest restaurants in the US, we do have the pricey fast food. And apparently, we love it.
