Most of Maine is On Track for a Mid-September Heat Wave
The last several days have felt a lot more like the middle of October.
The last couple weekends, I've been staying out at my camp and one of the things I've really been enjoying, was that the nights were getting super chilly. I know not everyone digs that, but to me, the perfect sleeping temperature is when you're almost cold. Not quite, but almost. I sleep like a big, bald, angry baby.

But if you are a junior weather nerd like I am, you may find yourself cross-referencing a few different forecasts and seeing what looks like glorious news. The next several days are going to feature some stellar September weather. There looks to be some decent sun, but also a LOT of days in the upper 70s to low 80s.
It looks like the whole state will get to enjoy this meteorological bounty.
When this month first rolled in, it felt like someone kind of slammed a window on summer. It seems like we went from the frying pan to the back of the fridge. Being a natural pessimist, I just assumed we were on our way to an early winter, hahaha. But Mother Nature has decided to give everyone a little taste of summer as October heads our way.
The coastal areas and Southern Maine look a bit cooler, as they always do. But in the interior sections of Maine, we're looking at many nice warm days. On the good side though, it looks like the nighttime temps will still dip down into the 50s. So sleeping weather will still be darn near perfect.
How long will this weather hold up?
That's the real piece of good news. Once it hits by the end of this week, it looks like it'll stay until well into the next week. So we'll get lulled into false summer. It's kind of like when we get false spring at the end of winter. We'll think we've hit a new trend, and just as we acclimate to the niceness, it'll disappear like a thief in the night.

But seriously, I think we can all agree that having a little extra summer in our summer before summer officially turns into fall, is pretty sweet. It could be worse... Everything seemed to to start so early at the beginning of summer, we could just keep these fall vibes and start winter two weeks early... No one wants that.
