National Weather Service Issues Special Statement For Downeast Coast
For those working or playing on the water today, the National Weather Service issued a special weather statement pertaining to Hurricane Chris.
It stated the following: "Hurricane Chris will pass well east of the Downeast coast today. Long period southeast swell is expected today which will produce a moderate risk of rip currents. There is also the potential for random higher waves that can crash up on rock ledges and pose a hazard. The swell will begin slowly diminish later tonight and into Friday."
Sounds like a great day to venture to the coast and check out some large waves! Road trip to Schoodic Point, anyone?
