Gifford’s Gets Ready For Ice Cream Season With New Pint Line
As Gifford's Ice Cream stands across the state get ready to open, the company announced this week that they have a brand new Pint Line rolling out to stores in Maine, with 7 brand new flavors!
“Back in the Fall of 2022, we introduced our first-ever seasonal pints of Pumpkin, Apple Pie Churro, and White Peppermint Chocolate Chip, and our fans loved them,” said JC Gifford, fifth-generation ice cream maker and COO of Gifford’s. “We took those reviews from our customers to heart and decided to create not just one, but seven new pint flavors for our fans to enjoy year-round, and we’re so excited to bring this new lineup to our fans.”
The 7 new flavors include 5 pretty straightforward/self-explanatory flavors like Wyman's Blueberry Cheesecake, Banana Caramel Coconut, Salted Vanilla Toffee, Double Dough, and Passion Fruit Mango Sangria Sorbet.
There are two more flavors that require a bit of an explanation: Spicy Strawberry Pretzel (think strawberries, pretzels, and habanero pepper) and Reverse Chocolate Chip (chocolate ice cream with white chocolate chunks.)
“As a family, we know what it’s like to just want your own flavor,” continued Gifford. “Pints give us, and our fans, the chance to explore flavors that we might not otherwise be able to make and do it in a fun way."
The news of the new pint flavors comes on the heels of a couple of other positive steps forward for the company, which suffered a setback last year when the Skowhegan plant where they produce the ice cream caught fire and caused a shutdown in production.
This February, Gifford's resumed making some of their new flavors as repairs to the Skowhegan plant were completed.
They also announced that their Gifford's Ice Cream stands are getting ready to open, first with Bangor this coming Friday, March 15th.
Next in line will be the Waterville Stand on Friday, March 22nd, and Skowhegan on Friday, April 5th.
The Gifford's Stand in Farmington was heavily damaged during the storm last December, so they're currently operating out of a Mobile Scoop Shack and will open at a later date.
