The area's most popular cable television and internet provider will soon open a new store in Bangor to promote and feature it's mobile cellphone services.

The new Spectrum store will officially open on Thursday, January 28th, on Stillwater Avenue, right next to Bed, Bath & Beyond, in the same strip mall area as Texas Roundhouse, Kohl's and L.L. Bean.  The sign on the door promotes a "Brand New Spectrum Experience."

According to an article in MaineBiz back in July of 2019 about a new Spectrum store in the Augusta Marketplace, Spectrum has been opening these new stores since they began their new mobile cell phone service in 2018. At that point, Spectrum jumped into the cell service provider gig here in Maine, competing with already established brands like U.S. Cellular and Verizon.

At the new store, prospective customers will be able to learn about Spectrum's mobile cell service and phones, and then activate their new service whether it be on a new phone or one that they already own.

Spectrum customers will also be able to take care of other business there, like making a payment, trading in cable TV gear or signing up for internet service.  Besides Augusta and now Bangor, Spectrum also has stores in Portland and Auburn.

Spectrum customers have always used the location at 444 Perry Road in Bangor, and there is no word or inclination that that location will close to consumers.
