Everyone needs access to good Thai food.

It should be a requirement wherever one lives. When I lived in Southern Maine, there were several to choose from. And honestly, it was one of things that was kind of hard to cope with when I moved back to Bangor 10 years ago. Since then, a few have popped up that are great, but I think there's always room for more.

For that matter, I'm often willing to hop in the car and head a little way out of town to have a great meal. Why not? Who doesn't love a good date night now and then? Bucksport already has several great spots worth driving for. There's MacLeod's, Glenn's Place, Crosby's Drive-In, Friar's Brewhouse, and plenty more.

But again, everyone should have access to good Thai Food. And sushi!

And soon, Bucksport will have their own great Thai food. The folks who own Siam Sky, a local favorite in Blue Hill and Ellsworth, have taken over a space at 52 Main Street in Bucksport. They'll have all the traditional favorites like Pad Thai and Drunken Noodles, sure to please anyone who loves Thai food.

The new location will be a bit different than the other two Siam Sky locations. Different name, and a slightly different menu that will also include sushi, according to the BDN. Right now, it's hard to say exactly when it will be open, as tons of work needs to be done to outfit the space. But the wheels are definitely in motion.

As details develop, we'll keep you posted as to when you can go and actually try all the delicious food. Until then, stay hungry.

While you're waiting for this hot new spot to open, maybe try some of these?
