Put that nasty old couch right back where it was.

It had to be about 20+ years ago, but my band at the time had a pretty large rehearsal space. Big enough that we had a few chairs and a couch that faced a TV where we could play video games on breaks from practicing. Sometimes those practices turned into more video games than actual work, but whatever. We loved it.

Once, we got a new couch, and tried to take our old one across the parking lot on a couple of skateboards, because Goodwill was right behind us. Of course, they saw us rolling up with a stanky old couch, and pretty much turned us right around and sent us on our way. I think we opted to burn it instead, hahaha.

Right now, they don't even want your good couch.

To be fair, they probably do, but they aren't accepting any new donations right now in ANY of their Maine stores. In fact, two of their New Hampshire stores are straight-up closed until after the 4th of July. It's at that same time, Maine stores may begin to accept donations again.

According to WGME, this is all happening because of supply and staffing issues. The staffing issues I can wrap my head around. But supply? It's not like they have a lot brought in from other places. They rely on... donations. But, if there's no one there to take them in and process them, you can't really take them in the first place.

With any luck, things will get back to normal for them next month. All Maine stores will be open during this time.
