The National Weather Service is predicting heavy snow for the Monday morning commute in Bangor and eastern Maine.

A winter storm warning has been issued for the area. Forecasters say the snow will start around midnight and move its way through the region, ending Monday afternoon Downeast.

Snowfall rates of  more than 1-inch per hour are possible during the morning commute, according to the NWS.

About 7 inches of snow is expected for the Bangor area with about 9 inches of snow expected Downeast.
