I am not sure if we miss things in the excitement, forget how to be safe or just never thought is through but regardless no one need grilling to end in a mess.

Now today is national Hamburger day. Good day to drag out the grill if you didn't over the weekend and get things cooking. That said, the National Fire Protection Agency, who tell us there are at least 16,000 people in the ER each year with grill injuries, has some very specific ideas of safe practices when it comes to grilling. For example you need to be sure the grill is a safe distance from the house and any roof overhang, You need to be sure it is in a safe place for kids and pets, at least 3 feet is their recommendation plus whether charcoal or propane grills should only be used outdoors and there is more.
