Old Town Canoe Scratch & Dent Sale Coming Up Weekend Before Big River Race In Maine

Old Town Canoe Company:  They're known around the world for their top-notch canoes and kayaks. In fact, you'd be hard-pressed to enter any Maine town during the spring and summer months and not find one of their watercraft sitting streamside, or strapped to the top of a Subaru.

If you've ever spent any time on the water in Maine then Old Town Canoe Company is a name you're likely familiar with.

Whether you're looking to buy a boat to race in, or planning ahead to purchase a backup (in case yours floats away during the upcoming Kenduskeag Stream Canoe and Kayak Race)...It might not be a bad idea to swing by the Old Town Canoe Company's 'Annual Scratch & Dent Sale' this year, which is conveniently scheduled to take place the weekend before the big race.

Ski Rack Sports, at 24 Longview Drive in Bangor, will be hosting that sale again this year, as they have in the past. They say this year's event will take place over the weekend of Friday April 11th, Saturday April 12th and Sunday April 13th.

The Kenduskeag Stream Canoe and Kayak Race is scheduled to take place April 19th this year.

Locals know that if you're looking for deep discounts on these legendary vessels, the Scratch & Dent Sale is a good place to find one.

However, those in the know know to go early because there have been years where they've sold out of boats by the end of the first or second day.

The event is free and open to the public.
