Oriental Jade Plans $1-Million Expansion, Buffet Elimination
Oriental Jade, a fixture near the Bangor Mall for nearly 40 years, will undergo a $1-million renovation and expansion, the restaurant's owners announced this week.
The expansion will feature a showcase kitchen with new dishes, a sushi bar, a brewery and a beer garden, according to a news release.
“We’re adding Asian-inspired pizza, Bao Buns, and other modern Asian bistro items on our menu,” said Tyson Lo, son of owners Victor and Lilian Lo. “Plus, we’re launching the brewery and a not-to-be-missed beer garden. But to make room for these innovations, we’re going to have to say good-bye to the buffet.”
The buffet has been a staple at the restaurant for 20 years. The buffet will close Sept. 18.
Oriental Jade, at 320 Bangor Mall Boulevard in Bangor, will remain open during its expansion and renovation.
