The Penobscot County Sheriff's Office has released a few more details about a body that was found over the weekend in Orrington and say there may be a second victim.

The name of the deceased has not been released, but officials say the person appears to be the victim of a boating accident. Deputies responded to the report of a deceased person on the banks of the Penobscot River in Orrington just after 4:30 p.m. Sunday. An investigation was launched and is ongoing.

A canoe was recovered early Monday morning and now officials believe there may be a second victim. A search for that victim includes the use of law enforcement personnel, boats, and aircraft.
