Frank and Krystal Lavigueur own the business on River Road. On Wednesday, they issued a statement on Lav's Auto Facebook Page that all future appointments would be canceled, and the business would be closing indefinitely until further notice due to the damage.

Gas unfourtunatly will not be back up for the foreseeable future. The fire engulfed the 3rd bay but the heat damage throughout the building is catastrophic. We appreciate you all and will be in touch when we know more."
According to WABI TV 5, the State Fire Marshal's Office investigated what caused the fire and determined that it was accidental.
So many friends, neighbors, and community members offered words of encouragement to the small business owners via social media, expressing their empathy and gratitude that while the fire was destructive, no lives were lost or people were injured.
"Sorry to hear about this, hopefully you'll be back up and going soon. Glad nobody was hurt."
Another wrote, "Good luck with everything Frank. I’m sure you’ll get through this. Your customers will be waiting."
In fact, many of Lav's customers said they'd be back and would patiently wait for them to rebuild once they had a plan.
"So so sorry...Stay Strong! We are ready to be repeat customers once you hopefully open again soon!!!"
Fire crews, members of the Penobscot County Sheriff's Office, and Maine State Police helped with the fire Monday night.
