Weighing in at a svelte 60 pounds of hunky Husky, The SPCA of Hancock County's Pet of the Week, Kayu, is looking for a proper partner with whom to run.

He's perfectly suited for our cold Maine winters and to explore the great outdoors, no matter the season. Our handsome guy, Kayu, would be a complimentary companion for a family who already has other dogs in the home, and likes to spend time outside.

The folks at the SPCA, off the Bar Harbor Road in Trenton, say Kayu would be an awesome addition to a home with active people and pups. Whether on a run, a walk, or just chasing a ball, they say Kayu has tons of energy and loves to be on the go:

"This beautiful boy liked rambling around his previous owner’s property, playing in the woods and by the brook. And never once did he stray from the property! Kayu would love it if his new owner lived on a large piece of property...like all Huskies [Kayu] is a pack animal. He would love to join your pack, and you would love having him!"

While he is a total sweetheart to all people, and to other dogs, Kayu would probably have too much energy for cats and/or tiny tots.

If you'd like to go visit Kayu, or to learn more about him, just reach out to the SPCA of Hancock County at (207) 667-8088. Or check out their website at spcahancockcounty.org.
