Maine Drug Enforcement Agency Arrests Pittsfield Residents

Agents from the Maine Drug Enforcement Agency, along with members of a local police department arrested two individuals from Pittsfield after months of investigations drug trafficking activity in the Cannan area.

According to Commander Lowell Woodman of the Maine DEA, 44-year-old Joshua Johnson and 28-year-old Samantha Quimby, both of Pittsfield, were taken into custody without incident Wednesday (April 22nd) evening.

"For the past several months Agents from the South-Central Task Force have been investigating drug trafficking in the Pittsfield, Canaan area...Agents obtained an arrest warrant for Joshua Johnson of 128 Canaan Road Pittsfield charging 3 counts of aggravated trafficking schedule W drugs (fentanyl)... Agents also obtained a search warrant for 128 Canaan Road."

Authorities say Johnson had made several undercover drug purchases in the months leading up to his arrest.

He faces 3 charges of Aggravated Trafficking in addition to charges of criminal trespassing and bail violations. Johnson is being held at the Somerset County jail , pending his first court appearance. His bail has been set of over $5000 cash.

Quimby, who had outstanding warrants for driving with a suspended license, violating bail conditions and theft, is also being held at the jailhouse until she can appear in court. Her bail has been set at $1500.
