Y Management reported that offices had been ransacked and items were stolen. The Bangor Region Y had to close for the day on Thursday, so an inventory could be taken and the mess could be cleaned up. They made the announcement via their social media pages:

"Our Y will now be CLOSED for the ENTIRE day (3/24). This includes ALL Programs & Services. We are not allowed into the building until Bangor PD has finished investigating the BREAK IN. Sorry for any inconvenience and THANK YOU for understanding."

It was able to reopen Friday morning, but some of the programs have been impacted by the thefts, including this evening's activity for teens. From the Y Facebook Page:

"Because our projector was stolen during yesterday’s break-in, tonight’s Teen Center Dive-In Movie event has been canceled. However, there WILL be Family Swim tonight (3/25) from 5:30 – 7:00pm!"

Y management offered their most sincere thanks for the Bangor Police Department and to the community for the outpouring of support they have received after the event.
