State Police are investigating the deaths of two people whose bodies were found inside a Richmond home.

UPDATE: State Police say Dana Shulman died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound. The cause of death for 47-year-old Robin Bowler is pending toxicology tests.

Richmond Police originally went to the apartment on Main Street at around 11:00 Monday morning, for a welfare check. When they were unable to make contact with anyone inside the apartment, Richmond Police called for assistance from the Maine State Police.

Officers entered the residence and found a man and woman, 49-year-old Dana Shulman and 47-year-old Robin Bowler, who were both deceased. Now, members of the Major Crimes Unit Central are investigating the circumstances behind the deaths and say there is no ongoing threat to the public.

Both of the deceased were sent to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner, where autopsies will be conducted to determine cause of death.

We'll update this story as more details become available.
