A police pursuit of a pickup hauling a trailer that began on Broadway in Bangor Thursday ended in Carmel when the police deployed spike strips.

Bangor Police told WABI-TV that the chase began when officers spotted the truck on Broadway, after it had been reported stolen. The white pickup had a flatbed trailer behind it when the driver, 28-year-old Paul Johnston, refused to pull over. The pursuit traveled through the city before Johnston got on the interstate. It finally ended when State Police deployed a spike mat.

Seth Koren, who's a moderator for the Penobscot County Area Scanner page on Facebook happened upon the scene, after the chase was over, and took some video of the amount of police officers involved (we count 14 cruisers), as well as the truck. You can clearly see, in the video, that the driver's side front tire is flat from the spike strip.

Johnston is facing multiple charges including eluding arrest and driving to endanger. There are no reports of anyone being injured in the incident.
