Yes, we've been washing our hands to the bone, and using a lot of hand sanitizer as well.  Our hands are now as dry as the desert itself.

With the threat of COVID-19, we're  washing our hands much more and much longer than ever before, all the while creating very dry and brittle skin.  What can be done?

How about using a banana?  Surely, you jest.  We're not jesting, and don't call us Shirley.

According to the Farmers' Almanac, bananas are ripe with vitamin A, which restores and moisturizes dry, over washed hands.  Impress the family by squishing a banana with a fork and then rubbing it all over the affected area.  Make sure that you leave it there for almost 20 minutes, rinse with warm water, and then pat the area dry.

One basic hand-washing tip is to just pat your hands dry, instead of rubbing the heck out of them with a dry, rough towel.  Wearing kitchen gloves while doing the dishes can help, along with adding some baking soda to your dishwater.

Farmers' Almanac has more tips for you, along with more natural healing relief ideas at their website.  Stay safe, everyone.
