Bangor Police are offering a reward for information connected to the death of a man in a Second Street apartment.

The body of Israel Lewis was found in his apartment on January 10th, after someone called 911. The person, whose identity has not been released, had tried contacting the 51-year-old by phone. When that person was unable to reach him, Bangor Police say they went to his first floor apartment, looked through a window, and spotted him lying on the floor.

The State Medical Examiner's office has ruled the death a homicide, although police are not commenting on how Lewis died. This is the first homicide in Maine for 2018.

Law enforcement officials are currently offering a reward for information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person/people responsible for the death of Mr. Lewis. Investigators are conducting interviews with witnesses and continue to investigate the case.

Anyone with information is encouraged to contact the Bangor Police Department at (207) 947-7384.
