The Saco Hannaford store has issued a recall on fresh pizza dough, after police say someone put razor blades in at least one loaf.

This is the time of year when we start worrying about contaminated Halloween candy. I remember my parents looking over my candy to make sure wrappers were intact. Anything that wasn't pre-wrapped went into the trash immediately. I did the same with my kids when they started trick-or-treating. I don't ever remember finding anything suspicious, but it would only take one time to ruin a Halloween.

But who would think to check their fresh pizza dough for razor blades? Someone was counting on that when they slipped the blades into the dough, before it was sold at Hannaford in Saco this month. Luckily, one customer handled the dough when they got it home and then returned it to the store when they found the blades.

Now, Hannaford Supermarket & Pharmacy in Saco is recalling any fresh pizza dough that was purchased between Monday, October 5th at 2 p.m. and Tuesday, October 6th, at 10 a.m. Customers who bought fresh pizza dough from the deli, during that time frame, can return it to the store for a full refund.

Saco Police are calling it a malicious tampering event and are looking at a possible person of interest.
