It's been quite the week over at the Hancock County SPCA. Our friend Cole, Communications Coordinator SPCA Hancock County, filled us in a bit on what's been going on, and to say they've had some challenges would be an understatement.

"More than seven cats went to the vet this past week for non-routine care. Three of our cats are requiring care after car accidents, including a mother cat who has six kittens that are only days old. Treatment plans are being worked on with a local vet, and some of them are in foster with veterinarians."

This is Marie Antoinette, the mamma who was hit. She is one of our Pets of the Week.

Cole says there are plenty of opportunities to donate on behalf of the animals at the shelter, like Antoinette, if you feel so inclined.

"If anyone wants to donate directly toward the vet bills of our animals, donations to the Feel Better Fund are immensely appreciated. We only use Feel Better Fund donations to pay off vet bills and medical expenses."

Our other Pets of the Week are a pair of brothers we have featured before. Cole says he's perplexed as to why they're still at the shelter.

"If you’re looking for a pair of gorgeous tabby boys, come meet Dean and Sam, a pair of young tabby brothers who are approximately 9 months old. These tabby twins are near impossible to tell apart, as they both have bold, black stripes and peridot eyes. These boys adore each other, but they also love other cats, don’t mind dogs, and are fascinated by little children. They need to be adopted together since they’re the best of friends, but they’re in purrfect health and can’t wait to have a family of their own."
