The readers rated the islands based on several criteria, including natural attractions and beaches, activities and sights, restaurants and food, people and friendliness, as well as value.

It all began with an out-of-state trucker named Mike Saxon, who was tasked with an almost impossible job: Navigate this massive medical machine room through MDI.

By the time he made it to his final destination, the people of MDI had gathered together to show Mr. Saxton their appreciation for all of his hard work; apparently a gesture Mr. Saxon was not used to.

Nine-year-old Silas Harper from MDI was diagnosed with Evans Syndrome in April of this year. Any parent can only imagine what Mom Amy and Dad Chris are going through.
