The Springfield Fair Happens This Saturday In Springfield, Maine

You have to love a good Seed Spitting Contest!

There will be a FULL day of activities this Saturday, August 31st, at the Springfield Fairgrounds!  It's the 169th edition of the Springfield Country Fair!

This particular country fair runs for one day only and the schedule is packed full of fun!  The Horse Show begins at 9, followed up by the Car Show in the Bandstand Area and the Iron Woman Triathlon in the Pulling Area, both starting at 10.

The Iron Woman Triathlon will feature the ladies competing in The Mop Chuck, The Skillet Throw and the Seed Spitting Contests.  Now, that sounds like a whole lot of fun!

Professional Wrestling takes the Stage Area at 1 and the ever popular Truck Pull kicks off at 3:30 on the Track.  Events will wind down with the sounds of crushing metal with the Demolition Derby beginning at 7!

And of course there's the dough boys, the Springfield Fire Station Sausages, crafts and the animals as well!

The gates open at 8 a.m.  Admission is $12 for for tweens and folks between 13 and 61, seniors get in for $10, kids 6 - 12 pay $6 and those 5 and under are free.  A full schedule of events can be found HERE.
