Malcolm Young, the rhythm guitarist for AC/DC is very ill.  That was the official word from the band yesterday.

Malcolm and his brother, lead guitarist Angus Young started the band back in 1973.  Yesterday's statement from the band said that "After 40 years of life dedicated to AC/DC, guitarist and founding member Malcolm Young is taking a  break from the band due to ill health.  The band will continue to make music."

There was initial speculation that Young suffered a stroke, now a source close to the band says the he may have Alzheimer's, dementia or possibly cancer.

AC/DC has always been a favorite in our area!  Who doesn't have a copy of "Back In Black?"  Not many!  I remember during my days at DeOrsey's Record and Audio store we couldn't keep that album in stock!  (Does the image to the right look familiar to you? Yup, the old DeOrsey's logo.)
