Updated as of 2 PM Thursday:  The Sagadahoc County Emergency Management Agency has been updating the public since the time of the girls' disappearance, just before 11 AM. They had even asked folks who were going to look for them to stay out of the way of law enforcement agents who were trying to do their jobs. Then came the good news:

"The two juvenile females have been located and returned safely. Thank you for all your assistance in this search."


Original story: According to the Sagadahoc County Emergency Management Agency, police in Topsham are looking for two elementary school students, last seen leaving the playground at Woodside Elementary School on Thursday morning. The school is located at 42 Barrows Drive in Topsham.

"First Person is a white female approximately 7 or 8 years of age. Last seen wearing a white fury jacket. She goes by the name of Sofia Garza. Second Person is a white female approximately 7 or 8 years of age last seen wearing a blue L.L.Bean jacket. She goes by the name of Olivia Burch."

Superintendent for MSAD 75, Heidi O’Leary, issued a statement on the school's website that the girls have been missing since about 10:45 AM.

"This morning, Thursday, November 6, 2025, there is an active situation at Woodside Elementary School involving two missing second-grade students who cannot currently be located.

Local law enforcement, including the Topsham Police Department, is actively assisting in the search. The school and district are working closely with authorities to ensure student safety and will provide updates as new information becomes available."
