Tours Of Bangor Are Announced!

The Greater Bangor Convention & Visitors Bureau will be presenting a variety of both walking and bus tours this year, really interesting stuff.

The Devil's Half Acre walking tour explores bangor's dark side back in the mid 1800s, where brothels, saloons and over crowded housing ran rampant.  You'll hear the stories of that era and this tour is recommended for adults only.  Sign me up!

Other walking tours include, "The Ghostly Bangor Tour", and a couple of "Mt. Hope Cemetery Tours".  The GBCVB websites states that some deceased Bangor residents are still hanging around with untold stories to tell. Also, hear the stories about famous Bangor folks who are buried in Mt. Hope Cemetery, including gangster Al Brady and former Vice President Hannibal Hamlin.

Are you a Stephen King fan?  Then you'll want to take the "Tommyknockers and More Bus Tour".  Did you always think that his fictional town of "Derry" was really Bangor?  Find out for sure on the tour!

Other bus tours include "The Best Of Bangor", "The Ghostly Tour", and "Monument Tour".  All the bus tours are about 90 minutes long.
