
Afternoon Accident Involving Tractor Trailer Slows Down Traffic Near Orono
Traffic on the Southbound part of Interstate 95 near Orono is likely to be backed up for a bit, as emergency and cleanup crews work to clear debris from a tractor-trailer accident that took place in that area.
According to the Maine State Police Facebook Page, the accident occurred around 3:30 Monday afternoon.
"A crash in the median on I-95 involving a tractor-trailer unit going southbound between Orono and Bangor (mile marker 190) has shut down the passing lane. The right lane is open to traffic, but it will be moving slowly as crews work to clear the accident. Troopers have indicated it may be a while before both lanes are open."
Authorities say to expect delays if you're traveling in that area, and to maneuver through the scene with caution.
There have a been a number of accidents along the interstate in the last few months.

The Maine Department of Transportation reports that to this date, there have been almost 13,000 crashes on Maine roadways, 30 of them fatal.
